Elizabeth Varley Camp
Elizabeth Varley Camp is a member of the Investment Committee of Warson Capital Partners, participating in the investment process for the Warson Capital Fund I. With 27 years of experience in finance and private equity investing, she is the Founder of New York-based Phare Capital, a merchant banking firm investing in and advising private companies in several industries including financial services, food, industrial technology, and healthcare. From 2004 to 2009 Elizabeth was a Partner at HealthpointCapital and Ewing Management Group with a combined $1.5 billion of assets under management, focusing on investments in private companies. Prior to joining Healthpoint, she served as a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs from 1997 to 2004, where she was one of the founding members of the Private Equity Group, helping build the business from four people to 75 and grow assets under management from $900 million to $11 billion. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Elizabeth was a General Partner at Gibbons, Green, van Amerongen, one of the investment industry’s pioneering firms, where she served for 11 years. She began her career in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets Departments of Morgan Stanley.
Elizabeth has served on the boards of Fountain View Inc., Rival Manufacturing, Bath Iron Works, Wells Aluminum Corporation, Sheller Globe, and Ladish Company, Inc., and on the advisory boards of 22 private equity funds. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree as a Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College, and her Masters of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Brooklyn Prospect Charter School.
